Lovely burner! Sticks don't stand straight up in it, but it does have four holes to hold them. If you need to move it while you have a stick in it, the stick may fall out, though. However, that is no biggie, and I love that it is big enough to pick it up by the wood edges when I have a burning cone in the center, but doesn't get too hot to touch like my metal burners.

Nice tray for burning cones. I haven't tried it with sticks. I wish the center was a little flatter as the cones can easily tip over especially if you're outside and there's a little breeze but it works and is inexpensive and a nice design.
